Measurement rules
How Datvix counts AI Visibility
These are the rules behind the AI Visibility screens. The product displays stored results. It does not invent a second score in the browser, and it does not publish a failed run as a successful measurement.
Scope
A measurement is a prompt you saved and ran. Datvix does not sell unattended 24/7 monitoring, and it does not track Google AI Overviews. Runs are started from the product. Historical observations stay in place. A new provider configuration does not backfill old answers.
ChatGPT through OpenAI is the engine with successful measurements in this release. A provider can be configured, unconfigured, failing, or not yet measured. Only eligible successful observations enter the rates below. Failed attempts are excluded. They are not zeros.
Eligible prompts and observations
Eligible prompts are the enabled prompts for the site. An eligible observation is a successful result marked eligible for metrics. Headline figures use the latest eligible observation for each prompt in the selected dates. When you filter to one provider, only that provider’s eligible observations are used.
Coverage is the share of those prompts whose latest eligible observation mentioned the brand. If there is no successful eligible observation, coverage is missing, not 0%. Mentions are the count of brand mentions on eligible observations. A prompt can be covered or not, and the mention count is kept separate.
Citations, position, and share of voice
Raw citations count stored citation URLs. Unique cited pages collapse those URLs. Average citations divide the raw count by eligible observations that were actually measured. Own-domain citation coverage is the share of those prompts whose citations include the site. Own-domain citation share is the share of citation URLs on that hostname. A provider with no samples does not receive another provider’s citation numbers.
Position is the mean of stored ranks, and only when a defensible rank exists. A missing rank is left blank. It is not recorded as position 1 or as 0. Ranked-first and top-three counts use stored positions only.
Share of voice is brand mentions divided by brand mentions plus tracked-competitor mentions. With no tracked competitors, share of voice is unavailable. It is not shown as 100%. Untracked names in an answer are excluded. This is not share of Google search.
Missing data and limits
No successful eligible observation means no-data. A successful observation with no mention, or with no citations, is a measured zero. Sentiment is shown only when it was stored for that provider’s observations. A previous period with no observations stays “No earlier observations.”
Datvix does not guarantee mentions, citations, or rankings. The visibility score is not the SEO health score and not the crawl GEO score. Crawl E-E-A-T and content-intelligence E-E-A-T are also separate signals.

Questions
- What is left out of a rate?
- Failed provider attempts and results that are not eligible for metrics are excluded. They are not counted as successful observations and they are not published as zero.
- Why is share of voice blank when the brand was mentioned?
- Share of voice needs tracked competitors in the denominator. Mentions without tracked competitors do not become 100% share of voice.
- Does Datvix promise a citation?
- No. Datvix reports what a successful prompt run stored. It does not guarantee that an answer engine will mention or cite the brand.
